Lessons for students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.23 named after F.P.Gudey in Grodno» and the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No.7 named after V.T.Kolokolnikov in Grodno» as part of the «Archives for Schools» campaign at the State Archives of the Grodno Region
On February 12 and 13, 2026, as part of the «Archives for Schools» campaign, the State Archives of the Grodno Region held two lessons on the topic «The Tragedy of the Civilian Population during the Great Patriotic War» for students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.23 named after F.P.Gudey in Grodno» and the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No.7 named after V.T.Kolokolnikov in Grodno».
Archive staff showed students documentary materials illustrating the criminal activities of the occupation authorities: records of prisoners of war held in German camps, identification cards of ghetto inmates, and work cards of citizens sent to forced labor in Germany. The students also viewed exhibitions of documents dedicated to the events and participants of the Great Patriotic War, displayed in the archive’s reading room.
In the Digitization and Restoration Department, students observed the process of restoring paper media. The lessons concluded with a tour of the archival storage facility, during which they learned about the conditions and specifics of document storage.
