Lessons for students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.32 named after T.G.Larionova in Grodno» as part of the «Archives for Schools» campaign at the State Archives of the Grodno Region

On February 4, 2026, as part of the «Archives for Schools» campaign, the State Archives of the Grodno Region held two lessons for 10th-grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.32 named after T.G.Larionova in Grodno» on the topics «State Archives of the Grodno Region: History and Modernity» and «Unconquered Grodno».

During the lesson, dedicated to the history and development of the State Archives of the Grodno Region, archive staff told the students about the archive’s history, its main activities, and the composition of its documents. The students were presented with the most interesting and valuable documents stored in the archive, as well as collections of documents and materials prepared with the participation of the State Archives of the Grodno Region.

During the second lesson, archivists told the students about the partisan and underground movements in the Grodno region, the liberation battles for Grodno in July 1944, the socioeconomic consequences of the occupation, and the lengthy process of rebuilding the war-ravaged economy. The students were also shown exhibitions of documents dedicated to the events and participants of the Great Patriotic War, displayed in the archive’s reading room.

Following the lessons, the students visited the archive storage facility and the laboratory for restoration, binding, and repair of documents.
