Presentation of the exhibition project at the Main Department of Justice of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman
On January 22, 2026, the Main Department of Justice of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee hosted a presentation of the exhibition project «Girls in Protective Uniforms», dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman. Natalia Nikolaevna Filippova, First Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, was the guest of honor at the event.
Addressing those present, I.V. Zhineva, Director of the State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region, explained that the project is dedicated to the women of the Gomel region who fought on the front lines during the Great Patriotic War, provided aid to the wounded, and fought against the occupiers behind enemy lines. They were born for peace, but their destinies were scorched by war. Although no books have been written or films made about the exhibition’s heroines, their life stories exemplify heroism during wartime and modesty in peaceful post-war life.
The exhibition features memoirs, autobiographies, award documents, and photographs of women who fought in the Great Patriotic War, found in the collections of the State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region.
