Lessons for students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.11 named after Army General A.I.Antonov in Grodno» as part of the «Archives for Schools» campaign at the State Archives of the Grodno Region
On January 19, 2026, as part of the «Archives for Schools» campaign, the State Archives of the Grodno Region held two lessons for eighth-grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.11 named after Army General A.I.Antonov in Grodno» on the topics of «Archives in the Grodno Region» and «The Tragedy of the Civilian Population during the Great Patriotic War».
During the lesson, dedicated to the history and development of the State Archives of the Grodno Region, archive staff told the students about the institution’s creation, its main activities, and the composition and content of its stored documents.
During the second lesson, students were shown documentary materials illustrating the criminal activities of the occupation authorities during the Great Patriotic War: records of prisoners of war held in German camps, work IDs, questionnaires and medical records of citizens sent to forced labor in Germany, ghetto prisoner IDs, and many other documents.
The students were given a tour of the archive, during which they visited the archival storage facility and the restoration, binding, and repair laboratory.
