As part of Zero Accident Week, a preventive meeting was held at the Zonal State Archives in Molodechno. Aleksey Pashkevich, Deputy Head of the Molodechno Interdistrict Department of the Minsk Regional Office of the Department of State Labor Inspectorate of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus, participated. In his speech, he presented statistics for the Molodechno District, noting cases of fatal and serious occupational injuries. He also detailed the causes and consequences of accidents, emphasizing that they are most often caused by violations of occupational safety regulations, a perfunctory approach to training, and insufficient oversight by managers. The speaker discussed typical violations in both industrial and non-industrial settings, including the use of faulty equipment, disregard for fire safety regulations, obstructing work aisles, and negligence when using office equipment. Particular attention was paid to recommendations for archivists: regularly check the functionality of electrical appliances and office equipment, adhere to workplace ergonomics, safely store documents and materials, and promptly complete safety briefings and training.
Furthermore, Alexey Pashkevich noted the importance of preventing household injuries and fostering a safety culture in everyday life, emphasizing the role of institution managers in systematically monitoring compliance with occupational safety requirements and instilling in employees a responsible attitude toward their own safety.
The meeting became a significant element of Zero Injury Week, reminding everyone that occupational safety is a daily practice that helps preserve health and life.
