BGAMLI at an expanded meeting of the BSU Department of Source Studies

On November 27, 2025, an expanded meeting of the Department of Source Studies of the Faculty of History of BSU was held in memory of Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Vladimir Nikiforovich Sidartsov (1935–2025).

V.N.Sidortsov is the founder of the Department of Source Studies, which since 1992 has specialized in training archivists and document specialists. He has done much to strengthen BSU’s close ties with the archival industry in our country.

The Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) has actively collaborated with the Department of Source Studies since its inception, including participating in the training of young specialists. Graduates of the department work at the archive-museum.

The expanded meeting was attended by E.A.Makarenko, Director of BGAMLI, and D.S.Samokhvalov, Leading Researcher at BGAMLI. In their speeches, they recalled V.N.Sidortsov as a person who had a direct influence on their personal and professional lives, and expressed the opinion that the best tribute to his memory would be further fruitful collaboration between the two institutions.
