Tour of the State Archives of the Mogilev Region for the Information Center Staff of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee’s Department of Internal Affairs

On November 20, 2025, staff from the Information Center of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee’s Department of Internal Affairs visited the State Archives of the Mogilev Region. The guests, whose work includes processing and storing archival information, were keen to learn about the archival institution’s operations.

The guests were given a tour of the archive, during which they visited the archive storage facility, equipped with mobile shelving, and learned about document storage and preservation, including the automatic gas fire suppression system, which is designed to detect and extinguish fires without human intervention.

The tour continued with a visit to the document digitization section, where they were shown a demonstration of the scanning equipment used by the archive. Then, in the reading room, archivists explained the types of documents stored in the archive and the rules for working with them. During the discussion, guests were able to ask all their questions and receive expert answers.

Finally, participants viewed the banner exhibition «Looking Back to the Past», dedicated to the history of Mogilev during the Great Patriotic War, as well as an exhibition of the most interesting and significant documents from the archival collections.

The tour served not only as an event to further promote the work of archival institutions but also as an opportunity for professional exchange.
