Exhibition «Inspired and Recognized Mastery» for the 100th Anniversary of Yuri Vladimirovich Semenyako, Composer and People’s Artist of the BSSR

To mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of People’s Artist of the BSSR and composer Yuri Semenyako, the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art has prepared a virtual exhibition, «Inspired and Recognized Mastery». Yuri Semenyako was the author of four operas, five operettas, more than 300 songs and other symphonic and vocal works, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, and Chairman of the Union of Composers of the BSSR from 1978 to 1980. His work has become an important part of the national musical heritage.

The exhibition features documents illustrating the composer’s creative path and public activities: sheet music manuscripts, playbills and programs for performances, photographs, letters of thanks, congratulatory telegrams, and letters from renowned cultural figures.
