On the visit of employees of the State Archives of the Gomel Region and the State Archives of Public Associations of the Gomel Region to the temporary detention facility of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee’s Department of Internal Affairs

On October 30, 2025, employees of Gomel archival institutions were given a tour of the temporary detention facility of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee’s Department of Internal Affairs. Archivists learned about the facility’s work with detained offenders, as well as where and under what conditions they are held.

A lecture was given to the archivists on the main types of administrative offenses, administrative detention, and types of administrative penalties. Archivists learned that administrative arrest is one of the important measures of coercive influence against offenders. Archivists were also informed about how administrative arrest is carried out and the special administrative and legal acts that regulate it.

The discussion focused on subscriptions to prohibited websites, which can be disguised as various harmless information sources.
