New acquisition at the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art

 

On October 15, 2025, the collections of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as the BGAMLI) were expanded with the family archive of Boris Vladimirovich and Oksana Borisovna Arakcheev.

Boris Vladimirovich Arakcheev was a talented artist, teacher, Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, recipient of the Order of Franz Skaryna, and member of the Belarusian Union of Artists. He worked at the Belarusian Academy of Arts. Oksana Borisovna Arakcheeva, daughter of B.V.Arakcheev, is a Belarusian artist, teacher, member of the Belarusian Union of Artists, laureate of the Vasil Vitka Prize, UNESCO diploma recipient, and designer of the books «Fables» by I. Krylov, «Rezvushka-Khokhotushka» by I.Zaslonova, and «The Silver Snuffbox» by Z.Byadula. She is also a curator at the Czech GalerieKaras.

The archive includes biographical documents, creative materials, sketches and drafts depicting the village, a large number of graphic and watercolor works on military themes, photographs, and other documents. The archive will continue to be expanded.

BGAMLI expresses its deep gratitude to Oksana Borisovna for the transfer of this valuable collection of documents, which will allow future generations of researchers and art lovers to truly appreciate the Arakcheev family’s contribution to Belarusian culture.
