«How wonderful and peaceful it is when parents are close!» – for Parental Love Week in Belarus

From October 13 to 26, 2025, Belarus will celebrate Parental Love Week, timed to coincide with Mother’s Day (October 14) and Father’s Day (October 21).

A promotional video for the exhibition dedicated to Parental Love Week, «How wonderful and peaceful it is when parents are close!», has been posted on the BGAKFFD YouTube channel.

Currently, the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents contains a vast collection of audiovisual documents related to the aforementioned topic. These include group family photos dating back to the early 20th century, photographs of women awarded the title «Mother Heroine», photographs of members of labor and sports dynasties, and large families.

Film documents on this topic are presented by the stories of the newsreels «Savetskaya Belarus» and the documentaries «Masters of Sports» (1960), «Reportage of One Day» (1961), «Emergency» (1961), «Initiation into Grain Growers» (1969), «Mom, Dad and Us» (1979), «10 Minutes about 10 Million» (1985), «Father’s Line» (2000), the video films «Family» (2007), «There Will Be More of Us» (2007), «Great Happiness» (2008), the video clip «Men’s Talk» (2010), the video programs «Republic Today. Year of the Mother 2006» (2006), «Common Interest. Family» (2008) and others.

Events held during Parental Love Week are designed to strengthen family traditions, preserve and promote family values, foster interest in exploring the historical and cultural heritage of one’s family and homeland, and foster civic and patriotic stances.
