«Young Archivist»: A Lesson at the Rechitsa Zonal State Archives for World Post Day

On October 9, 2025, World Post Day, a lesson entitled «Our Friend the Postman» was held at the Peresvyatovskaya Basic School in the Rechitsa District as part of the «Archives for School» campaign and the «Young Archivist» pilot project. Rechitsa State Archives staff told students in grades 2-4 about the life and work of Yevgeniya Adamovich, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War and a Rechitsa postwoman, and showed them her archival documents. Using Yevgeniya’s example, the students learned about the work of a postwoman and how it benefits society.

A fascinating quiz, «Planet Post», was also held for the audience, during which students demonstrated their knowledge of the postal service. Those who answered correctly received prizes – school stationery.
