«Unity is our strength». Slutsk archivists took part in a district event dedicated to National Unity Day
On September 17, a gala event dedicated to National Unity Day was held at the Slutsk City House of Culture.
This year marks the fifth year that Belarus has celebrated what is arguably its youngest national holiday – National Unity Day. On this day, Belarusians remember the long and difficult path our people had to travel to gain sovereignty.
It is no coincidence that National Unity Day is timed to coincide with a significant event in our history – the reunification of Eastern and Western Belarus. Not only does it affirm the inviolability of territorial integrity, but it also serves as an eternal lesson for each of us: the loss of national unity means the loss of independence, the loss of a state.
And today, we bear a shared historical responsibility: to preserve the priceless heritage bequeathed to us by our ancestors, to uphold the sovereignty of Belarus, and to enhance its spiritual and economic potential.
Celebrating this wonderful holiday, we believe that our wisdom, hard work, and spirituality will help us remain united as a peaceful nation, united by a glorious history and concern for the present and future of our children.
