On holding a working meeting and a board meeting in the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus

On July 24, 2025, a meeting of the working group on the implementation of paragraph 59 of the Program of Activities of the Government of the Republic of Belarus for 2025-2029, approved by Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated May 8, 2025 No.254, was held in the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, chaired by Deputy Minister of Justice O.N.Kot.

Deputy Minister of Justice O.N.Kot announced the tasks facing the archival industry for the unconditional implementation of the Program in terms of preserving the documentary heritage and communicating the historical truth to society.

The heads of the structural divisions for archives and records management of the main justice departments of the regional executive committees reported on the progress of work on creating digital copies of documents of the National Archival Fund.

After the meeting of the working group, a board meeting of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus was held.

The following issues were considered at the board meeting:

1. On the progress of the implementation of the subprogram «Archives of Belarus» of the State Program «Culture of Belarus» and the results of the work of state archival institutions in the first half of 2025.
2. On the progress of development of budget funds by state archival institutions in the first half of 2025.

On the first issue, the report was made by the First Deputy Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management O.A.Ledovskaya, who noted that the analysis of the fulfillment of target indicators was carried out in two directions by the specific weight of the implementation of the annual plan and comparison of the results of work with the same period in 2024.

The co-rapporteurs were the Deputy Head of the Department of State Registration of Commercial (Non-Commercial) Organizations, Legal Expertise and Organization of Work of Archival Institutions of the Main Department of Justice of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee O.V.Pashkevich and the Head of the Department of Archives, Civil Registry Offices and Other Legal Issues of the Main Department of Justice of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee A.Yu.Zabolotnaya.

Summing up the consideration of the first issue, the Director of the Department O.L.Voinov instructed the state archival institutions not to reduce the growth rate in fulfilling the target indicators of the State Program «Culture of Belarus» for its worthy completion this year not lower than the results of 2024.

Speaking on the second issue, the Deputy Head of the Department of Organizational and Analytical Work, Financing and Accounting T.A.Sukhanova reported on the work done and the results of the development of the allocated budget financing by the state archival institutions.

The co-rapporteurs on the second issue were the Director of the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents A.N.Gonchar, Deputy Director of the National Historical Archive of Belarus N.T.Buloichik.

Following the consideration of the second issue, the Director of the Department O.L.Voinov instructed the directors of the state archival institutions to take comprehensive measures and ensure the timely and full development of budget financing for planned activities.

The members of the board recognized the work of the state archival institutions on the agenda items as satisfactory.
