The National Historical Archives of Belarus has prepared and hosted on the archive’s website a virtual exhibition dedicated to the 225th anniversary of the birth of Valentiy-Wilhelm Vankovich (1800-1842), a Belarusian artist.

The famous Belarusian artist was a representative of romanticism, an outstanding master of portraiture in the first half of the 19th century. The collections of the National Historical Archives of Belarus contain numerous documents related to the history of the Vankovich family. The exhibition displays documents from 1800-1896, including records of the birth and death of Valenty Vankovich, materials from the Minsk Provincial Noble Deputy Assembly on the noble origins of the Vankovich family, information on the land holdings of the Vankovichs and various representatives of this family.
