The Zonal State Archive in Polotsk «Behind the Scenes of History: Excursion to the Archive»

On June 3, 2025, the Zonal State Archive in Polotsk was visited by pupils of the interest group «Matitsa» from Novopolotsk.

The excursion is a great opportunity for schoolchildren to learn more about the history of their region and the work of archivists. Getting to know old documents allows you to see history with your own eyes, which is much more interesting than just reading about it in textbooks. Within the framework of the International Archives Week, such an event is especially relevant.

The schoolchildren received a lot of impressions, seeing old documents, learning how they are stored and how they are used to study the past. Such excursions help to awaken interest in history and local history.
