BGAMLI interview for BelTA correspondent about the work of the first theater brigade during the war

On June 1, 2025, the BelTA website published an interview with the head of the department of information, publication and use of documents of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) Vera Valentinovna Birulya «Walked through swamps, performed in forest clearings. How artists brought Victory closer, supporting the fighting spirit of soldiers», dedicated to the activities of artists during the difficult years of the Great Patriotic War. V.V.Birulya paid special attention to the creation and activities of the first variety theater brigade to serve the active units of the Red Army.

The archive-museum contains the fund of Grigory Pragin, director of the Belarusian State Philharmonic, who was the head of the first Belarusian theater front-line brigade and preserved documents related to this period. Among them are the order to create the brigade, travel orders, certificates of concerts held, correspondence with former colleagues of G. Pragin, etc. These unique documents allow us to understand the role of art in maintaining the morale of soldiers.
