On the visit of the State Archives of the Brest Region by students of Brest Gymnasium No.6

On May 27, 2025, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign, the State Archives of the Brest Region was visited by 10th-grade students of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No.6 of Brest named after Marshal of the Soviet Union Zhukov G.K.».

The employees of the Department for the Use and Publication of Documents told the children about the main areas of activity of the archives of the Republic of Belarus, how the State Archives of the Brest Region was created and what documents it stores. The students were told in more detail about the documents from the period of the Great Patriotic War stored in the archive. During the lecture, the students were shown the film «On the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of Brest from the Nazi Invaders», provided by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents.

Then the students were given a tour of the archive with a visit to the archive storage facility and the laboratory for repair and restoration of archival documents.
