BGAMLI employees visited the joint exhibition «The Ways to Go.».. at the Yanka Kupala State Literary Museum

On May 28, 2025, employees of the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) visited the exhibition «The Ways to Go.».. at the Yanka Kupala State Literary Museum. This exhibition is a joint project of the Yanka Kupala Literary Museum and BGAMLI, dedicated to the centenary of Yanka Kupala being awarded the high title of the first people’s poet of Belarus.

The curatorial tour of the exhibition was conducted by the head of the scientific-exposition and exhibition work department of the Yanka Kupala State Literary Museum, Maria Nikolaevna Bartkova, who spoke in detail about the exhibits presented and their significance in the context of the poet’s life and work.

The beginning of the creative path of the great Pesnyar is counted from May 15, 1905 (according to the Julian calendar), when the first publication under the pseudonym «Ya. Kupala» appeared in the newspaper «Severo-Zapadny Krai». May 28 is one of the anniversary dates of Kupala’s work on the occasion of the publication of the poem «Muzhyk». The main focus of the exhibition is on 1925 – an important stage in the work of Yanka Kupala. 100 years ago, on June 10, 1925, the Government of Belarus adopted a Resolution on awarding Yanka Dominikovich Lutsevich (Yanka Kupala) the title of Belarusian People’s Poet. Among the iconic exhibits of the exhibition are autographs of the poem «To the Ways of Go», photographs of the poet of that time, as well as anniversary books: the fifth collection of poetry «Beznazounaya» and the first volume of «Zboru tvorau» – the first collection of works in the history of Belarusian literature, published in July-August 1925.

The exhibition includes documents from the collections of the Belarusian State Literary Museum of Literature and Art, which allow a deeper understanding of the life and creative path of the classic.

The exhibition «To the Ways of Go…» will be open to visitors at the Yanka Kupala State Literary Museum until July 9, 2025.
