On May 9, 2025, in Vitebsk, the festive events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War ended with the song «Victory Day» and a grand fireworks display

On May 9, Vitebsk plunged into an atmosphere of celebration – tens of thousands of people took to the streets to honor the memory of the heroes who defended peace during the Great Patriotic War.

The festive events united all generations of city residents in a single burst of memory and pride. They began with the «March of Generations», which continued with a military parade, a ceremonial rally and the laying of flowers at the eternal flame on Victory Square, a minute of silence.

The holiday continued in parks and squares: exhibitions of military equipment, concerts, open-air film screenings and many other events. In the evening, a festive concert «Our Victorious Spring!» was held on Victory Square, which ended with a grand fireworks display and the song «Victory Day» performed by artists, residents and guests of the city.

Employees of the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region were among the participants of the event.
