Opening of the exhibition «Thank you, Grandfather, for the Victory!» and a thematic event at the institution «Zonal State Archives in Lida»

08.05.2025, on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the state archive hosted the grand opening of the exhibition «Thank you, Grandfather, for the Victory!» and a thematic event with the participation of archive workers and their family members.

In preparation for the annual event dedicated to Victory Day, traditionally, children of archive workers participated, and for the first time, representatives of the older generation of families. The necessary information, photographs, documents from family archives were collected, slides and presentations about grandfathers and great-grandfathers who participated in the war were prepared.

In her opening remarks, the director of the archive, Svetlana Gennadyevna Svirko, noted the importance of preserving historical truth and memory as the basis of conscience, morality and culture of society, the continuity of generations and the peaceful future of our country, thanked all the participants for their joint friendly work in preparing the event and congratulated them on the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

Memories of relatives and friends who fought, poems about the war read by 11-year-old Sofia Vozvyshaeva, songs of the war years, heartfelt words of memory, a joint viewing of the documentary film «The History of the Great Victory» and a ceremonial laying of flowers at the mass grave of Soviet soldiers in the city park – a tribute of respect, gratitude and memory to all who brought Victory Day closer.
