Faces of Victory: The Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense and the Zonal State Archive in Molodechno implemented a joint exhibition project on the eve of May 9
Molodechno once again remembers the heroes whose exploits are inscribed in the history of the Great Patriotic War. The main entrance to Victory Park is now decorated with more than 20 banners with rare archival photographs, documents, awards, reflecting the combat path of veterans whose destinies are intertwined with this city. The basis of the exposition was the materials provided by the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, which Molodechno archivists thoroughly studied, systematized and prepared for printing. The presented facts, confirmed by the documentary chronicle, reveal little-known pages of history and are demonstrated for the first time.
The exhibition project was implemented with the financial support of the Molodechno District Executive Committee. The design and artistic concept were prepared by the city Palace of Culture. The main goal of the project is to preserve historical memory and instill patriotism in the younger generation. Among the heroes presented are both well-known personalities of Molodechno, whose names are immortalized in the names of city streets (Tavlay, Movchansky), and those whose exploits have long remained in the shadows.
This project is a tribute to each veteran. The Molodechno land has become a small homeland for many, and after the war, some helped to revive the national economy of the country. Thanks to the work of archivists who restored and prepared these materials, we can see the faces of those who gave us a peaceful sky.
The exhibition has already attracted the attention of residents and guests of the city. The organizers hope that it will become an important step in preserving the historical heritage and educating new generations in the spirit of respect and gratitude for the feat of their ancestors.
