About the exhibitions of the State Archives of the Brest Region dedicated to Victory Day

On the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the State Archives of the Brest Region prepared two exhibitions of archival documents:

«Perpetuating the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland and victims of the Great Patriotic War», which presents documents from the archival funds of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, District Executive Committee and City Executive Committee, party bodies, articles and photographs from the Brest Regional Newspaper «Zarya» for 1944-2016, testifying to the work carried out to preserve the memory of fallen heroes and victims of the war: the installation of monuments, the improvement of graves, the reburial of the remains of the dead, etc.;

«Their names are given to the streets of Brest», which presents documents from the archives of the Brest City Executive Committee on the naming of city streets in honor of the defenders and liberators of Brest from the Nazi invaders, underground heroes during the Great Patriotic War.

Both exhibitions are on display in the foyer of the archive building at 15 V. Khoruzhey Street.
