Participation of the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art in the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Rumyantsev Readings – 2025»
On April 24, 2025, Director of the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art) E.A.Makarenko took part online in the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Rumyantsev Readings – 2025», organized by the Russian State Library on April 22-24, 2025 in Moscow.
The purpose of the conference is to draw attention to the issues of preserving and studying the world cultural heritage, as well as to the problems of functioning of libraries at the present historical stage, to search for promising development paths, to expand intercultural interaction and cooperation between cultural, educational and scientific institutions.
For the first time, within the framework of the Rumyantsev Readings, a special session of libraries of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held, timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It considered the issues of preserving common historical memory, revealing and popularizing the richest archival materials of the war years from the collections of CIS libraries.
As part of the section «Collectors, researchers, curators. Libraries and museums in the context of history» E.A.Makarenko gave a report «Documents of the member of the «Rumyantsev circle» I.I.Grigorovich in BGAMLI as a source on the history of Belarusian archeography», in which she emphasized the significant contribution of the Russian statesman, patron and organizer of archeographic searches Count N.P.Rumyantsev to the development of Belarusian archeography.
The conference was attended by specialists from libraries, archives, museums, universities, research institutes, publishing houses, representatives of government agencies and public organizations.
