BGAMLI at the exhibition of sketches and frames from films «Images of the Great Victory in Belarusian Cinema»

On April 23, 2025, as part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, employees of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art, headed by Director E.A. Makarenko, took part in the grand opening of the exhibition of sketches and frames from films «Images of the Great Victory in Belarusian Cinema» in the art gallery «University of Culture».

The organizers of the exhibition were: the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents (hereinafter – BGAKFFD), the Belarusian Union of Cinematographers, the Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus and the art gallery «University of Culture».

The exhibition presents unique visual materials on the history of the Great Patriotic War. The first part of the exhibition includes footage and photo libraries of the National Film Studio «Belarusfilm» and the State Film Fund of Azerbaijan, BelTA and the newspaper «Zvyazda», photographs of the Soviet photographer N.V.Gnisyuk taken during the filming of the films «Come and See» and «Live Until Dawn», etc. The second part of the exhibition consists of sketches and paintings by artists of Belarusian cinema – participants of the Great Patriotic War, presented from the funds of the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus.

The exhibition will continue its work until May 17, 2025. As part of its implementation, meetings with filmmakers and screenings of Belarusian films will be organized.
