Conducting a lesson by the National Historical Archives of Belarus and screening a documentary film «The History of the Great Victory» for students of the Minsk State College of Digital Technologies

As part of the cooperation agreement signed between the National Historical Archives of Belarus and the educational institution «Minsk State College of Digital Technologies», an educational event was held for students of the college on April 21, 2025. Deputy Director of the National Archives of Belarus for Research Sergei Ryndin conducted a lesson for students of the college on the topic «Belarus in the World Wars of the 20th Century».

With the help of a presentation, students were shown documents from the National Historical Archives of Belarus and the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents on the history of the First World War. S.N.Ryndin spoke about the progress of mobilization measures in the Belarusian provinces, the organization of assistance to the front by local authorities, the implementation of measures to combat espionage, the evacuation of human and material resources, enemy air raids, the consequences of the war for the civilian population of Belarus, the fate of prisoners of war of the German and Austro-Hungarian armies. Most of the materials shown were photo documents.

The second part of the lesson was devoted to the events of the Great Patriotic War, which was the main component of the Second World War. The students watched the documentary film «The History of the Great Victory», covering the main stages of the history of the Great Patriotic War: the heroic defense of the Brest Fortress, the Battle of Moscow, the turning point in the war, the expulsion of the Nazi invaders from Soviet soil and their final defeat in Berlin. The film was created in accordance with the Plan for the preparation and holding of events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents with the participation of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.

S.N.Ryndin gave an interview to the Minsk-Novosti news agency, in which he spoke about the participation of the NIA of Belarus in the republican campaign «Archives for School».
