«Archives for School»: an excursion for students of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No.3 of Mogilev»

On April 21, 2025, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign, an excursion was held for 5th-grade students of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No.3 of Mogilev». The children visited the archive storage facility equipped with a modern fire-fighting system, climate control equipment to maintain certain storage conditions, a supply and exhaust unit with dehumidification, humidification and air purification functions, as well as special mobile shelving that protects documents from dust and light. In the foyer of the archive, the participants of the excursion were presented with a banner exhibition «Again, let’s look closer to the past», telling about the period of the Great Patriotic War in Mogilev and the post-war restoration of the regional center. The schoolchildren also visited the document digitization laboratory, where they learned about the document scanning process.

The event ended in the assembly hall with a screening of the documentary film «The History of the Great Victory», prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents (BSACFPD). The demonstration of the banner exhibition and the documentary film is part of the large-scale work carried out by archivists to perpetuate the memory of the Great Patriotic War.
