Within the framework of the current Cooperation Agreement, employees of the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents (hereinafter referred to as BGAKFFD) and the Kaliningrad Historical and Art Museum (hereinafter referred to as the Museum) have prepared a joint exhibition «War through the eyes of V.I.Arkashev. His weapon is a camera», dedicated to the front-line photojournalist Vasily Ivanovich Arkashev, and timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Victory, as well as the defeat of German troops in the city of Koenigsberg and the capitulation of the city’s garrison.
An employee of the BGAKFFD was sent to participate in the grand opening of the exhibition in Kaliningrad, who also took part in the ceremonial events of the Kaliningrad Historical and Art Museum – the transfer of documents of the criminal case against the commandant of the city of Koenigsberg, war criminal Otto Lasch, which took place on April 7 in the assembly hall of the Museum and the opening of a stand exhibition on Victory Square in Kaliningrad, dedicated to the East Prussian operation of the Red Army.
On April 9, 2025, in the museum «Dugout (Bunker)» in Kaliningrad, a grand opening of the joint exhibition of the BGAKFFD and the Kaliningrad Historical and Art Museum «War through the eyes of V.I.Arkashev. His weapon is a camera» dedicated to the front-line photojournalist Vasily Ivanovich Arkashev, and timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the capitulation of the Koenigsberg garrison took place. The Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Kaliningrad Region Andrey Viktorovich Ermak took part in the ceremonial event. The event was opened by the head of the Museum «Dugout (Bunker)» of the Kaliningrad Regional Historical and Art Museum Mikhail Galimkhanovich Badakhshin. The director of the Kaliningrad Historical and Art Museum Ekaterina Sergeevna Manyuk, the deputy head of the department for the use of documents and information of the BGAKFFD Mikhail Vladimirovich Garelik, who also conducted a tour of the exhibition, addressed the guests with a welcoming speech. At the end of the event, a historical reconstruction of the presentation of the ultimatum of the Soviet troops to the commandant of the city of Koenigsberg Otto Lasch and the capitulation of the German troops in the city of Koenigsberg was held.
Together with the management of the Museum, the prospects for further joint work were discussed.
