Single information day dedicated to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia in the institution «Zonal State Archive in Lida»

02.04.2025 in the institution «Zonal State Archive in Lida» the director of the archive S.G.Svirko held a single information day dedicated to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia. The director of the archive said that every year on April 2 in Belarus and Russia at the state level the Day of Unity of the Peoples of the two countries is celebrated. She recalled that on April 2, 1996 the Treaty on the Establishment of the Community of Belarus and Russia was signed. This treaty became the starting point when two independent countries, in order to unite their material and intellectual potential, decided to create a politically and economically integrated community. And on April 2, 1997 in Moscow the Presidents of Belarus and Russia signed the Treaty on the Union of Belarus and Russia. Since then, this date has been celebrated as the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia. This holiday symbolizes the common historical destinies, centuries-old strong friendship and spiritual brotherhood of Belarusians and Russians.

The director of the archive recalled the common historical past of the two peoples, spoke about joint projects of the two states in various sectors of the economy, in science, culture, health care and education.
