Excursion within the framework of the pilot project «Young Archivist» in the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region»

As part of the republican campaign «Archives – to school», the pilot project «Young Archivist» and the agreement on cooperation between the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region» and the educational institution «Mogilev State College of Arts», on March 26, 2025, an excursion was held for 1st-year students.

During the event, the children visited the archive storage, where they got acquainted with the features of storing documents. They visited the laboratory for digitizing documents, the reading room of the archive.

In the assembly hall, the archive staff introduced the students to the features of the work of archivists, the specifics of the documents stored in the archive. The students were also presented with a banner exhibition «Again, let’s look closer to the past», dedicated to the defense, the period of occupation and the liberation of Mogilev from the Nazi invaders.

At the end of the event, a screening of the documentary film «Operation Bagration» prepared by the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents» (Dzerzhinsk) took place.
