Conducting lessons for students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.6 named after G.A.Gornovykh of Grodno» as part of the «Archives for School» campaign at the «State Archives of the Grodno Region» institution

On March 26, 2025, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign, the «State Archives of the Grodno Region» institution conducted 2 lessons on the topics «Archival Affairs in the Grodno Region» and «Echo of War» for 5th-grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.6 named after G.A.Gornovykh of Grodno».

The archive employees told the schoolchildren about the composition of the documents and the main areas of work of the institution; they showed the children documentary materials of the German occupation authorities: cards of prisoners of war who were in German camps, work IDs of citizens sent to work in Germany, IDs of ghetto prisoners, questionnaires of workers, notices of conscription for work. The students also got acquainted with the documents of the partisan and underground brigades that operated in the Grodno region during the Nazi occupation.

The schoolchildren were also shown the documentary film «Liberation», prepared by the Belarusian State Film and Photo Documentation Archive as part of the «Open Film Archive» project.

During the tour of the archive, the students visited the archive storage facility, as well as the laboratory for restoration, binding and repair of documents.
