On the participation of the institution «State Archives of the Gomel Region» in the event dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Khatyn

On March 22, 2025, a citywide event was held dedicated to the 82nd anniversary of the Khatyn tragedy. Employees of the State Archives of the Gomel Region joined the citywide action of memory and grief, which united hundreds of Gomel residents.

Young archivists Anastasia Artemyeva and Oleg Semkovsky solemnly laid flowers at the Eternal Flame memorial on Labor Square and honored the memory of the victims of the Khatyn tragedy with a minute of silence. On this day, a small Belarusian village of 26 households was mercilessly burned along with its inhabitants. People who loved someone and dreamed of something died in cruel agony.

Remembering these pages of our history is the sacred duty of every Belarusian. These are not just high words, but the foundation of our cultural values, which we will rely on in the future.
