Conducting a class for students and teachers of the Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus

On February 26, 2025, as part of the republican campaign «Archives for School» and the cooperation agreement with the educational institution «Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus», a class was held at the National Historical Archives of Belarus for students and teachers of the Institute.

As part of the event, Deputy Director of the Archives Sergei Ryndin told the guests about the main milestones in the history of the NIA of Belarus, the composition and features of the storage of the institution’s funds. Head of the Department of Ancient Acts Oksana Romankevich spoke about the organization of the investigation and search for criminals in the Belarusian lands during the times of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, read and translated a fragment of the text in the Old Belarusian language to the audience. After that, the guests were given time to get acquainted with samples of the register books of judicial institutions of the 16th-18th centuries. and materials of the most high-profile criminal cases of the late 19th – early 20th centuries, which are stored in the funds of the NIA of Belarus.

The information presented aroused great interest among the guests of the archive. After the lesson, the employees of the NIA of Belarus answered numerous questions from the guests.
