Event within the framework of the campaign «Archives – to school» with the participation of employees of the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region»

On February 19, 2025, within the framework of the republican campaign «Archives – to school» and the pilot project «Young archivist», employees of the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region» took part in the curatorial hour of the second-year groups of the department of socio-cultural activities and information and documentation communications of the educational institution «Mogilev State College of Arts».

Head of the Department of Scientific Use of Documents and Information Olga Trotskaya and leading archivist of the Department of Scientific Use of Documents and Information of the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region» Alexey Shvyryov introduced the students to the banner exhibition «Again we will approach the past with a glance». The exhibition, created on the basis of archival documents and photographs, is dedicated to the history of Mogilev during the Great Patriotic War.

At the end of the meeting, the documentary film «Partisan Republic» was shown, prepared by the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents» (Dzerzhinsk). The film is dedicated to the partisan movement in Belarus during the Great Patriotic War. The newsreel footage shows the fighting, everyday life, and moments of rest of the partisans. The film screening helps to preserve the historical memory of the heroic past of the Belarusian people.
