The Archival Service and State Archives of the Brest Region Celebrated the 85th Anniversary of Their Creation

The Archival Service and State Archives of the Brest Region count their history from the date of adoption of the Resolution of the Council of People’s Commissars of the BSSR «On the Organization of Archival Affairs in the Baranovichi, Pinsk, Vileika, Brest and Belostok Regions of the BSSR» – February 11, 1940.

The ceremonial events took place on February 14, 2025 in Pinsk.

The archivists of the Brest region were congratulated by the First Deputy Head of the Main Department of Justice of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Yana Stelmashuk, the Manager of the Pinsk City Executive Committee Igor Beresten, the Chairman of the Pinsk City Organization of the Trade Union of Employees of State and Other Institutions Alina Volosevich.

The Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus sent a welcoming address to the archives celebrating their anniversary.

During the event, a video presentation was shown on the development of state archives of the region in 2020-2024.

For many years of conscientious work, high professionalism, and a great contribution to the organization and development of archival work in the Brest region, 25 heads and employees of state archives of the region were awarded (badges «Great Archivists of Belarus», Gratitude from the Department of Archives and Records Management, Certificates of the Brest Regional Council of Deputies and the Brest Regional Executive Committee, Letter of Gratitude from the Brest Regional Executive Committee, Certificates of Honor of the Pinsk City Council of Deputies and the Pinsk City Executive Committee, Baranovichi City Council of Deputies, Certificates of Honor and Gratitude from the Main Department of Justice of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, as well as Certificates of the Brest Regional and Pinsk City Organizations of the Belarusian Trade Union of Employees of State and Other Institutions).

On February 11, 2025, on the occasion of the anniversary, a ceremonial meeting of the staff of the State Archives of the Brest Region was held with the participation of veterans of the archive.

To celebrate the 85th anniversary of the formation of the State Archives of the Brest Region, the archive staff organized an exhibition of documents dedicated to this event.

The exhibition presents documents and photographs reflecting the main milestones in the history of the State Archives of the Brest Region, from the moment of its creation to the present day.

The exhibition is on display in the foyer of the archive building at 15 V. Khoruzhey Street.
