Republican campaign «Archives for School» in BGAMLI
On February 13, 2025, as part of the republican campaign «Archives for School», the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) hospitably opened its doors to students of the 3rd «B» class of the Republican College of Music. Young musicians took a fascinating journey into the world of archival documents, learning a lot about the history of Belarusian culture and art.
The excursion was specially adapted for the young age of visitors. Head of the Department of Information, Publication and Use of Documents V.V.Birulya spoke about the funds available in the archive-museum; about the features of storing valuable documents and museum items. The schoolchildren were especially interested in materials related to the history of Belarusian music. They were able to see original musical notations of famous Belarusian composers, learn about the life and work of famous musicians and conductors.
In the reading room of BGAMLI, students visited the exhibition of dolls by artist Alexey Martynov «Doll People», which presented designer dolls created using various techniques and from different materials.
The goal of the «Archives for School» campaign is to arouse students’ interest in the history and culture of their country, introduce them to the work of archivists and show how carefully historical documents are preserved.
At the end of the excursion, the students of the music college expressed their gratitude to the employees of BGAMLI for an interesting and educational excursion.
