Documentary exhibition «New Year. At the crossroads of time»
The exhibition «New Year. At the crossroads of time» has opened in the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, dedicated to the main winter holiday. The exposition is based on documentary materials and exhibits from the archive funds: «Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus», «Belarusian Headquarters of the Partisan Movement», «Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus», «Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus», «Committee on Physical Culture and Sports under the Council of Ministers of the BSSR» and others.
The presented documents tell about the lives of people, their hobbies and interests in the distant past: a combat leaflet of one of the partisan brigades with New Year’s greetings for 1943; drawings of winter landscapes by partisan artists in 1943-1944; a report by the district quartermaster of the Belarusian Military District A. Kostarev on the procedure for providing warm clothing to the district personnel for the winter of 1944/1945; the repertoire of the Belarusian State Order of Lenin Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater for December – January 1957; invitations and programs for theater performances for children during the winter holidays; documents on the preparation and holding of the sports festival «Minsk Ski Track»; selections of newspapers covering the participation of the President of the Republic of Belarus A.G. Lukashenko in the charitable New Year events «Our Children».
