Meeting of the staff of the National Historical Archives of Belarus

On December 9, 2024, a meeting of the NIA of Belarus employees was held, at which Deputy Director of the NIA of Belarus Natalia Buloichik acquainted colleagues with the information material «Developing Belarus. United Belarus». The material was prepared by the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus. In 2024, the Republic of Belarus celebrates a significant anniversary – the 30th anniversary of the institution of the presidency. N.Buloichik highlighted the main achievements of our country over the years of independence in various fields: industry, agriculture, food security, space research, energy, transport, medicine, education, physical education and sports, culture.

The next part of the meeting was dedicated to the International Anti-Corruption Day, which is celebrated annually on December 9, since 2004. Deputy Director of the National Archives of Belarus Sergei Ryndin presented to his colleagues an exhibition of documents entitled «Combating Corruption in the Belarusian Lands in the 19th-Early 20th Century (Based on Materials from the National Historical Archives of Belarus)». It includes documents from 1829-1916, which contain examples of corrupt practices in the administrative apparatus of the Minsk, Vitebsk and Mogilev provinces. Bribery was the most common offense. The presented documents highlight the measures taken by provincial authorities to investigate and prevent corruption.
