On the visit of the exhibition «Without forgiveness and statute of limitations» by the employees of the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Mogilev Region»
On December 9, 2024, as part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, employees of the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Mogilev Region» visited a thematic exhibition in the Mogilev Regional Library named after V.I.Lenin «Without forgiveness and statute of limitations», dedicated to the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide.
Every year on December 9, the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide is celebrated. This day was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in September 2015. The date was not chosen by chance: in 1948, on December 9, the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide was adopted.
The exhibition presents books from the series: «Belarus. Tragedy and Truth of Memory», «Archives. Nothing but the Truth», «No Statute of Limitations», «Partisan Archive», «Belarus Remembers: In the Name of Life and Name», «Children of War», «Right to Memory!» and others. Each publication is accompanied by archival documents and recorded memories of eyewitnesses of those events, careful research work of local historians, professional historians, search teams.
We must not consign to oblivion the memory of those who died in battles for the Motherland and those who fell victim to fascist death camps on their native land and beyond.
