Participation of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art in the 65th Anniversary Celebration of the Yakub Kolas State Literary and Memorial Museum
On December 4, 2024, Director of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art E.A.Makarenko took part in a gala event dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Yakub Kolas State Literary and Memorial Museum.
The Yakub Kolas Museum is a leading cultural center that preserves the life and work history of one of the founders of the Belarusian language and literature. It is located in the house where Yakub Kolas lived from 1952 to 1956. The museum preserves the personal belongings of the poet and his family, books, manuscripts, documents, and artwork that perpetuate the image of the people’s poet and the heroes of his works. The museum was founded on August 16, 1956. It was opened for visitors on December 4, 1959.
During the event, guests were given a tour of the memorial exhibition of the museum and the temporary exhibition «Defender of the Fatherland» for the 110th anniversary of the birth of Danila Mitskevich, the first director of the museum. The opening of art objects on the territory of the museum was organized.
The ceremonial event brought together a large number of guests and partners of the Yakub Kolas State Literary Memorial Museum. The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus R.I.Chernitsky addressed the management and staff of the museum with congratulations. A festive concert was held at the end of the event.
