The «Archives for School» campaign was held at the Zonal State Archive in Novogrudok

On November 6, 2024, a meeting with 5th grade students of Novogrudok Secondary School No.5 was held at the «Zonal State Archive in Novogrudok» as part of the «Archives for School» campaign.

On this day, schoolchildren learned about the history, main functions and tasks of the archival institution, the composition and chronological framework of the stored documents. Using the example of the current documentary exhibitions «In the People’s Memory», «Novogrudok – an ancient city, a young city», students learned how archival documents are used in the interests of society and the state. During the event, schoolchildren recalled the memorable anniversary date of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and watched a newsreel about the liberation of Grodno, prepared by the Belarusian State Film and Photo Documentary Archive as part of the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could».

The meeting with the students ended with an interesting tour of the state archive with a visit to the archive storage.
