BGAMLI at the opening of the exhibition «Belarusian Cinema through the Lens of Mikola Gnisyuk. To the 100th Anniversary of Belarusian Cinema»
On October 15, 2024, employees of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI), headed by Director Elena Aleksandrovna Makarenko, took part in the grand opening of the exhibition «Belarusian Cinema through the Lens of Mikola Gnisyuk. To the 100th Anniversary of Belarusian Cinema», which took place in the art gallery «University of Culture». The founders of the exposition are the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents and the Belarusian Union of Cinematographers.
The exhibition «Belarusian Cinema through the Lens of Mikola Gnisyuk. To the 100th Anniversary of Belarusian Cinema» is dedicated to the work of the photographer M.Gnisyuk, his contribution to domestic cinema. M. Gnisyuk worked with Belarusian directors Elem Klimov and Viktor Turov, as well as Gleb Panfilov, Nikita Mikhalkov, Eldar Ryazanov. The exhibition features portraits of Belarusian actors and directors, rare shots from the filming of the feature films «Breath of Thunderstorm», «Come and See», photos of People’s Artist Stefania Stanyuta, film director, People’s Artist V.Turov, etc.
The exhibition was organized by the «University of Culture» gallery together with the photographer’s wife, journalist, screenwriter, documentary filmmaker Nadezhda Maidanskaya.
