The internship of BSU students in the Central Laboratory is coming to an end

The management of the state institution «Central Laboratory for Preservation of Documents of the National Archival Fund of the Republic of Belarus» attaches great importance to work on the professional orientation of young people, training of future young specialists, strengthening of its own human resources.

Thus, since September 16, 4th-year students of the History Department of BSU, studying in the specialty «Historical and Archival Science», have been undergoing an internship in the laboratory.

On the first day of the internship, a meeting was held between the students and the management of the laboratory, where the director of the laboratory V.L. Klyuiko acquainted them with the history and structure of the country’s archival service, the heads of the Ministry of Justice and the Department of Archives and Records Management, the history, structure, traditions and tasks of the laboratory, the internal work regulations, and introduced them to the immediate supervisors of the internship.

During the internship, the students gained practical experience in the areas of microbiology, hygienic cleaning and binding of archival documents, as well as in the department of restoration and conservation of documents and the department of digitization and microfilming of documents.

It is worth noting with satisfaction that all student interns showed genuine interest in mastering technological processes, and the high assessment of the practical assignments they completed by laboratory specialists allows us to judge the successful consolidation of theory in practice.

The students accepted with interest the offer to undergo pre-graduation practice at the laboratory with possible subsequent employment.
