Initiation into «Young Archivists» at the ZGA in Zhlobin

On September 24, 2024, the institution «Zonal State Archive in Zhlobin» held an information hour «Symbols of my city» dedicated to the heraldry of Zhlobin for 8th-grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.7 of Zhlobin» – participants in the pilot project «Young Archivist».

The purpose of the meeting: to instill in the younger generation fundamental values, ideas and beliefs that reflect the essence of Belarusian statehood.

During the information hour, conducted by software engineer Davydenko M.S., the students took a short excursion into the history of heraldry, watched a presentation about the coat of arms and flag of Zhlobin, learned what each component part of the coat of arms means, and then completed theoretical and practical tasks on the topic.

Summing up the lesson, the children concluded that knowing the state symbols of the Republic of Belarus is the responsibility of every citizen of our country.

At the end of the event, archivist I.N. Eliseeva dedicated the students who became participants in the pilot project this year to the ranks of young archivists, with the presentation of emblems and badges «Young Archivist». This event will be the beginning of a new educational journey into the world of archiving.
