BGAMLI is a participant in the project «Pathetic Diary of Memory» dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus

On September 22, 2024, the director of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) E.A.Makarenko took part in the premiere of the vocal and choreographic performance «Pathetic Diary of Memory» of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of the Republic of Belarus.

The project «Pathetic Diary of Memory» is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. All creative teams of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus took part in the new stage work, created to the music of Belarusian composers: opera soloists, ballet soloists and dancers, choir and symphony orchestra.

In order to create an original scenographic and directorial solution for the work, the archive-museum provided digital copies of individual photographs and fragments from memoirs, diaries and notebooks of poets, prose writers, translators and literary scholars – participants in the Great Patriotic War.

The memory of the fallen is sacred to us, and the fire of eternal glory at the obelisks and monuments will not go out. We will not forget how hard it was for our people to revive cities after the war, raise children and sow grain.

We – living contemporaries – will preserve the legacy of the Great Victory with pride and trepidation.
