«Trade Union Movement in Faces»: employees of the Zonal State Archives in Molodechno became prize winners of the regional trade union photo contest

Employees of the Zonal Archives in Molodechno Victoria Ignatyeva and Ruslan Stupakov became prize winners of the regional trade union photo contest «Trade Union Movement in Faces», dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the trade union movement in Belarus. A total of 28 competition works were submitted for participation from members of the trade union of organizational structures of the Minsk regional organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Employees of State and Other Institutions. Molodechno archivists, acting as a photographer and model, were awarded second place in the nomination «Working Man».

With their work, they tried to convey the idea that one of the main tasks of archivists is the acquisition and preservation of documents of the National Archival Fund. And since today information is one of the most valuable resources, the transfer of knowledge to new generations is becoming especially relevant. The role of archivists in this is undeniably high. By the way, archivists are currently working on a thematic exhibition dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the trade union movement: the zonal archive funds store documents reflecting both the stages of its origins in Western Belarus and the formation of industry trade union organizations in the 1940s and 1950s. Then and now, the trade union’s focus is on labor protection and safety, mentoring, health improvement of workers and their children, cultural and physical education and health work, housing construction and more.
