80 years of liberation of Zhlobin from Nazi invaders
On June 26, 2024, employees of the Zonal State Archive in Zhlobin took part in a rally and ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers at the obelisk to the liberating soldiers, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Zhlobin from the Nazi invaders.
The operation to liberate Zhlobin began on June 24, 1944, and already on June 26 the city was cleared of fascist occupiers. In the evening, an order from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Marshal of the Soviet Union I. Stalin, was transmitted over the radio with gratitude to the liberators of Zhlobin, and Moscow saluted the troops of the 1st Belorussian Front with twelve artillery salvoes from 124 guns.
