Round table «Organization of archival affairs and management system of archival institutions in the CIS member states»

Pursuant to the Decision of the Advisory Council of Heads of State Archive Services of the CIS Member States (clause 2 of the minutes of meeting No.ХIХ September 20-21, 2023), on June 25, 2024, a round table meeting was held in a remote format on the topic «Organization of archival affairs and archival management system institutions in the CIS member states».

Director of VNIIDAD, Candidate of Historical Sciences P.A.Kung addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. Pavel Alekseevich noted that the round table is being held as part of the preparation of an analytical review on the state and development of archival science in the CIS member states in 2022-2023.

In the first part of the meeting, reports were made by VNIIDAD employees on the organization of archival management, the system of archival institutions and staffing of the archival industry in the CIS member states.

Then representatives of the CIS countries spoke: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan.

The Republic of Belarus was represented by the Deputy Director of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus E.A.Stukanova with a report «Problems of preparing electronic documents for transfer for permanent storage (the experience of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus)».
