The Zonal State Archive in Rechitsa presents letters from a participant in the Great Patriotic War to the Braginsky district
The Rechitsa State Archives continues to publish letters from participants of the Great Patriotic War to the administration of the Mikulichsky Village Council of the Bragin district of the Gomel region. Among them are several letters from Grigory Mikhailovich Zdorovets from the village of Mikulichi (F. 259. Op. 1. D. 3. L. 6, 14-16). In his first letter, dated January 19, 1944, he warns the leadership of the village council about the presence of traitors among local residents and retreating Soviet soldiers and reveals their names. Later, Grigory Zdorovets sent two more letters to Mikulichi (April 1 and August 11, 1944). In them, he asks his relatives’ house, in the construction of which he took part before the war, to be assigned to him or, in the event of his death, to his sons, and to transfer his own unfinished house to the collective farm.
Thanks to the website «Feat of the People» and data from archival documents, it became known that Grigory Zdorovets returned from the war to the village in February 1945, awarded the Order of the Red Star, Glory III degree, medals «For the Defense of Moscow «, «For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945».
