The Zonal State Archives in Rechitsa presents a document – a letter from a participant in the Great Patriotic War to the Braginsky district

The fund of the Mikulich Village Council of the Bragin district of the Gomel region contains one of the documentary evidence of the Great Patriotic War – a letter written by war participant Stasya Kudelko in 1944 after the liberation of Belarus (F. 259. Op. 1. D. 3. L. 7). In it, she, concerned about the lack of response from the village of Baidaki to her letters, turns to the leadership of the village council with a request to inform about the fate of her relatives and the village itself.

The electronic database «Belarusian villages burned during the Great Patriotic War» on the website of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus (http://db.narb.by) indicates that the village of Baidaki was destroyed twice by the Nazi invaders – in September 1942 and July 1943 years – and since then it has not been restored, and there are no deaths among its inhabitants.
